Basil Martini
Lee popped into Fiore Lounge located in Ballantyne to see how they make their Basil Martini! This cocktail feature our Basil Rum and is such a delicious drink to sip on. The Basil Martini is featured on their menu, along with several other Muddy River Cocktails, so be sure to stop in and check them out!
Basil Butterfly
The Basil Butterfly is special because it changes color! If you infuse your ice with butterfly pea blossoms, then it will change color as you pour over it. The shrub is awesome because the grapefruit, vinegar, and basil flavors from the rum just scream spring time. Remember to add the soda! The bubbles really help to add some fizz and lengthen the drink out a bit.

Barbados Rum Punch
This tiki drink takes advantage of the sweetness from our Muddy River Coffee Rum. Normally it calls for demerara syrup, but we subbed that out for the Coffee Rum. The bitters help show off the coffee flavors and the lime juice adds some tasty tartness. We give some body to the drink with the base of our Queen Charlotte’s Reserve.
Espresso Martini
This classic cocktail comes straight from London. Normally made with vodka, our version of the espresso martini has a full flavor with the use of our Muddy River Silver Rum. And when you shake that up with some of our Muddy River Coffee Rum and local Charlotte Javesca coffee it makes for the best coffee cocktail you have ever had.
Early Bird
Who would have thought that coffee and tropical fruit go so well together? Pineapple and lime juice pair perfectly with the Muddy River Coffee Rum. Then you add the Campari for that bitterness that just ties the whole drink together. Make sure to give this riff on the Jungle Bird a try. Remember, the Early Bird gets the worm!
Coffee Cola
This drink is brought to you by our production manager Jordan! The best part of this drink is that the ice is frozen cubes of local Javesca coffee. We then added both our Silver and Coffee Muddy River Rum and topped it off with coke. This is a great cocktail anytime, just be careful drinking it at night.
Black Tai
Everyone has had a Mai Tai right. It is THE tiki drink. But, have you ever had coffee Mai Tai? When you make a Mai Tai and add our Muddy River Coffee Rum, you will taste something you never have before. It adds some depth to the flavors as well as this darkness and richness that Mai Tais are normally missing.

Hibiscus Sour
If you're searching for a fantastic twist on the classic whiskey sour, then you're in the right spot. With our 4 year old rum that is aged in virgin American white oak, you get the classic whiskey taste, but in a rum cocktail. The hibiscus liqueur and orgeat together make for some tropical flavors you won't get elsewhere.
CLT Sour
Everyone loves a good whisky sour, but I bet you have never had one like this. We used our Queen Charlotte’s Reserve 4 year to get a lot of that oaky flavor that you recognize in whisky/ bourbon. From there we used lemon juice, a bit of sugar, and an egg white. And then to make this drink extra special, we stirred some red zinfandel wine with a homemade pomegranate liqueur and then floated a layer on top. This creates a spectacular tasting and looking cocktail

Spiced Rum Punch
Created by the founder of Muddy River Distillery, Robbie Delaney, this drink is perfect when you want something with a little kick. The fruitiness of everything in there like the grenadine and pineapple juice pair amazingly with the habanero sauce. The heat of the punch reminds you of enjoying a hot summer day on the beach, and the sweetness makes you think of the cool summer nights when the sun is setting and the sky looks like what’s in your glass.
The Riverwalk
This may be the best drink ever created! Just ask anyone here at Muddy River what their favorite drink is, and they are going to say The Riverwalk. This drink combines juices, bitters, local ginger ale, and of course our Muddy River Spiced Rum (our best seller). Make sure to use a very dry gingerale, and if you are having a hard time getting the right one, ginger beer would be a great substitute.

We loved getting to hang out with another local Belmont business and share a love of cocktails and good times.
